Faculty/Staff E-Mail Access

There are several options available to faculty/staff for accessing e-mail on and off campus. Desktop e-mail clients (such as Outlook) provide on-campus e-mail access. Use Webmail for on-the-road or off-campus access. Student infoStudents: please refer to the student Webmail access page.

Webmail

Recommended use: on- or off-campus
Available on: Any computer with a Web browser and an Internet connection

Webmail offers easy access from anywhere with Internet access and a Web browser and offers a variety of useful features.

Log in to Webmail here. Or, use the "E-Mail Login" link at the upper left corner of any page on this site (immediately below the Division of IT logo).

The first time you log in to Webmail on a new computer, you will need to download and install a security certificate. You'll also need to enable "cookies" in your Web browser program. Login with your PawPrint/SSO ID and password at webmail.missouri.edu.

Outlook

Recommended use: on-campus only
Available on: Windows

Outlook has sharable full-featured calendaring, a task list, a contacts database, mail filters and more. It can be used off-campus, but it is not recommended. Use of Outlook outside of Mizzou Tigernet requires Virtual Private Networking.

Outlook Express

Recommended use: off-campus for users who do not want to use Webmail
Available on: Windows

Outlook Express comes pre-installed on most Windows computers. It is not quite as full-featured as Outlook. You can configure Outlook Express to either leave your messages on the mail server (IMAP) or download them to your computer (POP). POP is not recommended, because messages downloaded to your local machine cannot be accessed from elsewhere.

Entourage

Recommended use: on-campus only
Available on: Macintosh

Entourage integrates e-mail, calendar and address book synchronization, directory service and more. It can be used off-campus, but it is not recommended. Use of Entourage X outside of Mizzou Tigernet requires Virtual Private Networking and is not recommended.

Thunderbird

Recommended use: on- or off-campus
Available on: Macintosh, Windows, Linux

Thunderbird is free from mozilla.com and features enhancements to help you manage your inbox and stay informed. Thunderbird lets you organize and display your folders, whether by favorites, recently viewed or folders containing unread messages. You can also set up RSS and newsgroup folders to stay on top of news and your interests.

Mac Mail

Recommended use: on- or off-campus
Available on: Macintosh

Mac Mail is the Macintosh e-mail client pre-installed with OS X.
