Time Reporters
Rounding
Effective April 29, 2009: A resolution concerning rounding issues has been reached. Some departments participating in the first parallel test for Time and Labor (T&L) encountered issues concerning the rounding rules and how they are applied.
Rounding has been changed to a method that eliminates rounding inconsistencies and does not produce fractional overtime as seen in the previous parallel. As a result, all Time Reporters should enter their time accurately in T&L.
This practice better reflects our current processes and complies with university policy. Please communicate these changes to your Time Reporters as soon as possible.
Previous Period Time Reporting
Effective April 20, 2009: Time Reporters are no longer able to enter time and/or absences once a time period ends. Time Reporters should contact their supervisor or department Time Keeper to make changes to their timesheet once the time period closes.
Time Keepers and Time Approvers
Overtime Rate
Effective April 20, 2009: The rate that is used to apply overtime has changed to better reflect current processes. Hours worked, to a maximum of 40 hours in a work week, are included in the regular hours, and hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week will be applied during Time Administration at the overtime rate of 1.5. Overtime will be paid at that job's compensation rate for any hours worked over 40. Adjustments to "who pays" for the overtime will need to be processed with a Payroll Correcting Entry.
