Research Support ComputingThe Research Support Computing (RSC) group supports the MU research community. RSC solicits input from researchers and assesses needs for specialized, high-performance computing and networking resources. RSC works to ensure that the campus' computing and networking infrastructure is positioned to support researchers and to provide education, training and consulting for them to take full advantage of the resources available.Internet2 High-Speed NetworkingRSC laid the foundations for supporting MU researchers by establishing a high-speed networking connection to the National Science Foundation-funded very-high-speed Backbone Network Service (vBNS). Today the MU research community benefits from high-speed network connections to Internet2 through the Abilene network.MU Research NetworkRSC has initiated the creation of the MU Research Network (MU RNet), an on-campus high-speed research network infrastructure that supports high-performance, network-based applications.Darwin Resources and SupportBioinformatics Consortium Resources and SupportThe University of Missouri Bioinformatics Consortium (UMBC) provides high performance computing and communications products and related services, including supercomputing-class hardware, software, mass storage systems, file storage areas, consulting services, and training. Information on all of these resources is available on the Bioinformatics Consortium resources web page. |
